Your baby's brain is developing at a good pace: as the cortex grows, the neuronal circuits start to form. In fact, your baby is perceiving the signals coming from his sensory organs (taste, smell, etc.) and will soon have the ability to memorise them and even to respond!

Your baby will continue to move around a lot in yourwomb. When you are caressing your stomach, he may even respond and come to meet your hand. These are magical moments" he is also starting to respond to various sounds which surround him and especially those coming from outside: music, but also your voice and that of his father. Your baby is also very sensitive to aggressive noise: a calm environment is therefore important.

Careful, his nervous system is at this stage not very mature" Avoid overstimulation. Opt for a gentle approach" You can talk to your baby calmly, tell him about your day, share your feelings, play him some soft music and caress him.

My good dietary habits

It is now more important than ever before to eat a little of everything to allow your baby to discover different flavours. His learning of tastes and odours really starts at this stage. The aromatic molecules in the foods you ingest reach it via the amniotic fluid: make use of this to share the pleasures of abundance ... within the limits of what is reasonable, of course!

Your abdomen is continuing to get grow and you might start finding it difficult to fall asleep or suffer from insomnia. To help you avoid this, don't eat too much fatty food in the evening.

A question of months: how do I avoid heartburn?

Your baby is taking up more and more space in your abdomen. The result is that it is putting pressure on other organs, especially the stomach, resulting in gastric reflux into the oesophagus. Remember to eat slowly, taking your time to chew well. Avoid spicy food if you suffer from heartburn. Eat lighter meals and allow yourself one or two snacks per day. Drink fluids regularly, especially between meals, but don't op for iced or carbonated water. If your heartburn does not disappear, ask your doctor's advice. Never take medication without first speaking to your doctor.

By the end of your 6th month of pregnancy, your baby will increasingly resemble a doll: he will start to get fatter and his hair and nails will have formed. As for you, you will be on the straight home run by now: the last 3 months before the arrival of your baby.
